Tour de Troit 2021
September 18 @ 9:00 am
Happy Anniversary- TO US! 2021 marks our 20th ride together and a return to riding with one another in person! Join us on Saturday, September 18th, 2021 as we head to the streets and ride some of the city’s historic areas, explore street art projects and take in its fabulous architecture. The ride provides bicyclists a unique opportunity to legally “take over” the streets of Motown.
Tour de Troit is a leisurely ride of approximately 25.6 miles with police escort; sweeper- and SAG-support; three mechanic “pit stops;” and one rest stop that includes a snack and mechanical support. The main ride will take off at 9 a.m.
The Tour de Troit starts and finishes at Roosevelt Park in the shadow of the Michigan Central Station, located at the intersection of Michigan Avenue and Fourteenth Street in Corktown, Detroit. Michigan Avenue will have limited access to vehicular traffic on the day of the event between 14th and 20th streets at 7:30AM. There will be no parking on Michigan Avenue along the park, or anywhere in the park.
THE RIDE STARTS AT 9 AM. Line up into chutes starts at 8:30 AM.
ALL cyclists must be wearing their BIB and a helmet to ride in this event. Double, and triple check that you have the appropriate gear before leaving the house. To protect the safety of our riders, please note that no bags over 420 cubic inches (6.9 L) will be permitted on the ride. Be sure to bring a water bottle. We will have a water truck at the start/finish of the ride, as well as on Belle Isle. We will not be providing water bottles as we are committed to being a green event. You may refill your bottle as many times as you need. Further details on logistics to follow.
PACKET PICKUP: September 18 from 7-8:45am onsite at Roosevelt Park.
